Jack, I appreciated the way you addressed this issue, I loved how you presented the broad reactions to the ad, and how you honed in on the core message. I think part of the reaction was the recently release APA statement and how various news agencies played it. I think you are spot on regarding male passivity. As a retired Army Officer, Chaplain, father of an adult son and daughter and grandfather of three boys I believe that masculinity is not toxic. Bullying, brutish behavior, and being passive and quiet in the face of wrong are not what I would call masculine. Masculinity is a gift of God.

Having said this, I grieve over the number of males who refuse to be involved in the lives they helped create.

The conversations need to continue, thanks again for posting.
